Our Commitment
JustLame is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Accessibility Standards
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA). We have chosen Level AA as our target for JustLame and are continuously improving our accessibility.
Measures We Take
JustLame takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Include accessibility as part of our development process
- Use semantic HTML to ensure proper structure and navigation
- Provide sufficient color contrast for text and interactive elements
- Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Support screen readers and other assistive technologies
- Provide text alternatives for non-text content where possible
- Test with assistive technologies during development
- Regularly review and update our accessibility practices
iOS App Accessibility
Our iOS application is built using SwiftUI, which provides foundational accessibility support. We are working to enhance accessibility across the app:
VoiceOver Compatibility
Our app is built with SwiftUI which provides baseline VoiceOver support. We are continuously improving labels and navigation for screen reader users.
Text Sizing
We are working to ensure our app respects system text size preferences for better readability.
Color & Contrast
We strive to use sufficient color contrast and avoid relying solely on color to convey information.
Video Content Accessibility
As a video-based platform, we recognize the importance of making video content accessible:
- Challenge descriptions provide text context for video content
- We encourage creators to describe their challenges in detail
Note: User-generated video content does not currently include automatic captions or audio descriptions. We are exploring ways to improve video accessibility in future updates.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, you may encounter some limitations:
- User-generated content: Videos uploaded by users may not include captions or audio descriptions
- Third-party content: Some embedded content or external links may not meet accessibility standards
- Complex interactions: Some gesture-based interactions may be challenging for users with motor impairments
We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility over time.
